How is Cord Blood and Tissue Taken?

Immediately after the baby is born (normal or cesarean section), the umbilical cord is cut and the baby is separated from the mother. 60-150cc of the blood in the cord remaining on the mother's side is meticulously taken by the obstetrician within the first 2 to 5 minutes after birth into the specially designed newborn stem cell collection kit obtained from StemCord. This procedure does not cause any harm to the baby or the mother.
